True Edge aka Zack
If you haven't seen one of his Guild War videos, then you have probably heard about them. They are the ones that have that snazzy tune and hilarious footage of in game content. So far Zack has made three of these great videos, and he is always looking for new cast members for upcoming videos. He has even been given his own forum and video section on GuildWars.Gameamp.
Zack has humbly agreed to do an interview with us. He was great and even answered every question! So with out further ado.
The Interview:
Hey,
Wow, I'm in shock. I would love to be interviewed :) Anyway let's get to those questions...
1.) How did you get into online games?
My girlfriend (Ginevra Ferrante) was a Halo addict from the day I met her, and one day I bought it to see what the big hype was. We played Halo together until my friend Foolee told me about Guild Wars. It was my first MMO, and I learned how addicting they were!
2.)Are there any other games you play other than Guild Wars?
The Final Fantasy series, Super Smash Bros Melee, and anything that looks good on PSP.
3.)What is your favorite game ever?
Final Fantasy 7.
4.)How many hours a week (or day) do you spend in game?
It used to be around 25 hours a week, but then I got this thing called a "job" so it's been reduced dramatically.
5.)Are you an \"alt-aholic\" or do you just play one main character? If you are an \"alt-aholic\" how many characters do you have?
I was a former alt-aholic. I purchased the game on its release date and it took me about a month till I got to Kryta with someone. Nowadays I stick to about 2 characters.
6.)What is your favorite thing about Guild Wars?
The community's willingness to cooperate with me to make movies, and female elementalists.
7.)How did you get into making videos for games?
I've been making movies for a few years, and one day I saw a Guild Wars music video. Everyone couldn't stop praising it, yet I thought it was mediocre. I made my first video just to raise the bar on MMO music videos.
8.)On average, how long does it take to make a video?
With part-time work and full-time school, about a month.
9.)What do you use to decide which song you are going to use?
I listen to the words. If it has lyrics I could use in game to make it funny, I'll use it. If I just chose my favorite songs, I doubt it would be as good.
10.)What is the process you use to make your videos?
I've gotten so many emails from the first and second videos that I have a huge list of people who want to be in them. I tell them to add me and message me in game so I can film them. When I actually want to play the game, I go 'offline' or on my second account, made for privacy. :P
11.)How do you convince your guild mates to do what you need them to in order to get the shot?
The actors/actresses in my movie are most of the time complete strangers. All I do is tell them I'm filming a movie, so /dance for me.
12.)If I wanted to be in your next video how would go about doing this?
Make a post in my Movie Casting Threadstating your character's name(s), gender, what armor they have, and how far they've been in the game.
13.)Where does your Gamamp user name come from?
True Edge is the name of the attack done by Raiden in Final Fantasy 3/6. It's also my warrior name in game.
14.)What upcoming MMO's are you looking forward to the most?
No clue. Does the Guild Wars expansion count? They should make more emotes :D |
